Experimental investigation of the dryout at low mass velocities and pressures
Investigation of the dryout in upward water flow within the ranges of mass velocities 10-150 kg/m(2).s, pressures 0.1-1.6 MPa, and heat flux 50-420 kW/m(2) is reported. The distributions of wall temperature and wall temperature fluctuations on the length of the tube, the time variations of flow temperature are obtained. The dependences of the boundary vapor quality and the critical heat flux from mass velocity are discovered. The mechanism of the heat transfer crisis at low mass velocities is also analyzed.
