Simultaneous binary mixed homopolymer brush formation by combining nitroxide mediated radical polymerization and living cationic ring-opening polymerization
A simple approach for one-pot, one-step binary mixed homopolymer brush synthesis was devised by combining nitroxide-mediated radical polymerization of styrene and living cationic ring-opening polymerization of 2-phenyl-2-oxazoline. Surface characterization techniques such as ATR-FTIR, ellipsometry, XPS, and contact angle measurements were performed in this research. The mixed homopolymer brush exhibited reversible surface property changes when subjected to different solvents.
