Acidity control of mixed Al2O3-MgO catalysts modified with fluorine or sodium compounds
Mixed Al2O3-MgO catalysts were prepared and characterized. The catalyst acidity can be controlled by varying the calcination temperature and by impregnation with fluorine or sodium compounds. In the reaction of 2-propanol, the dehydration rate constant increases with the calcination temperature and the amount of impregnated fluorine, whereas reverse results occur with an increase of impregnated sodium compound.
