The kinetics of aspen wood oxidation has been studied using the method of initial rates of oxygen consumption. Under certain conditions, the mass transfer processes practically did not limit the process rate. The reaction orders with respect to oxygen and hydroxide anion were determined experimentally. They depend on the conditions of the reaction, which makes it possible to distinguish the regions of different radical oxidation mechanisms: short chain, long chain and degenerate branching chain.
