Preparation and properties of Pd-La/Al2O3 catalyst for gas-phase amination of 2,6-diisopropylphenol
The preparation of Pd-La/Al2O3 catalyst for the synthesis of 2,6-diisopropylaniline (2,6-DIPA) by gas-phase amination of 2,6-diisopropylphenol (2,6-DIPP) is reported together with its catalytic properties. The addition of La in Pd/Al2O3 catalyst promoted the gas-phase amination efficiently. Under the conditions of 220 degrees C, 1.5 MPa, LHSV = 0.6 h(-1), GHSV = 300 h(-1), NH3/2,6-DIPP(mol) = 10, H-2/DIPP(mol) = 20, the yield of 2,6-DIPA over Pd(0.5 wt.%)-La(0.1 wt.%)/Al2O3 catalyst attained 83.8%. The whole run time of Pd(0.5 wt.%)-La(0.1 wt.%)/Al2O3 catalyst was up to 386 h.
