Homogeneous liquid phase oxygenation of 1-tetralin using alpha-diimine palladium(II) complexes
This work describes the homogeneous liquid phase oxygenation of 1-tetralin catalyzed by alpha-diimine Pd(II) complexes (alpha-diimine: ArN = C(R)C(R) = NAr (Ar = p-C2H5C6H4, 2-iPrC(6)H(5), C6H5 and R = Me, Ph, acethanaphthalenyl). Carrying out the reaction at T = 120 degrees C, P-air = 5.4 atm, a substrate/catalyst ratio = 100 for 3 h, this substrate is converted to the corresponding 1-tetralone and 1-tetralol products.
