One- and two-electron oxidation by the GLY-65 to threonine myoglobin mutant
Replacement of Gly-65 of myoglobin with a polar threonine residue accelerates the reaction with hydrogen peroxide by 10-fold and increases the oxidation of o-methoxyphenol and 2,2'-bisaminobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid).
