Investigation of wavy fin-and-tube heat exchangers: A contribution to databank
In the present study, a total of 22 samples of fin-and-tube heat exchangers having wavy fin configurations were tested. The effects of the number of tube rows, fin pitch, and edge corrugation on the air-side performance were examined. It is found that the heat transfer characteristics were strongly related to Be corrugation angle, and the ratio of waffle height and wave length. In addition, the effect of edge corrugation had negligible effect on the air-side performance. The proposed correlation can describe 93.02% of j and 91.8% of f within 10%.
