Water Electrolysis Using Eme Technology - Electric-Potential Distribution Inside a Nafion Membrane During Electrolysis
The electric potential distribution across a Nafion(R) membrane during water electrolysis using a solid polymer electrolyte has been computed. Experimental cell voltage vs. current density relations obtained at different operating temperatures and with different anodic electrocatalysts are used to check the validity of the calculated data. The use of a membrane strip to measure separately the anodic and cathodic overvoltages is discussed.
