Structural Aspects of Electrochemical Adsorption on Quasi-Perfect Silver and Cadmium Electrodes
The author’s data about the adsorption of inorganic ions, neutral organic molecules and water dipoles on so-called quasi-perfect silver and cadmium electrodes are summarized and compared. The influences of electronic structure of metal adsorbent atoms (ie chemical nature of the adsorbent) and of surface electrode structure (ie crystallographic orientation and growth step density) are estimated. Conclusions are drawn about the importance of the electrode surface structure in the processes of electrochemical adsorption.
