Graft Copolymerization of 2-Hydroxyethyl Methacrylate onto Chitosan
초록
Chitosan에 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA)를 ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN)를 개시제로 사용하여 10%아세트산 수용액 중에서 그라프트 공중합하였다. 공중합체의 총전환율, 그라프트율 및 그라프트 효율 등에 대한 개시제의 농도, 단량체의 농도, 반응온도, 반응 시간 등의 영향을 검토하여 최적 그라프트 공중합 반응 조건을 규명하였다. 또한, 그라프트 공중합체를 70% 황산 용액 중에서 가수분해시켜 얻은 그라프트된 p(HEMA)의 평균 분자량을 점도법으로 구하여 그라프트 공중합체의 분자량을 추정하였다.
The grafting of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA) onto chitosan initiated by ceric ammonium nitrate(CAN) redox system was investigated in 10% acetic acid solution. The total conversion, the percentage and the efficiency of grafting were observed in various reaction conditions such as initiator concentration, monomer concentration, reaction temperature, and reaction time. The molecular weight of grafted p( HEMA) was determined after the hydrolysis of graft copolymer in 70% aqueous sulfuric acid solution and it was found that the molecular weight of grafted p(HEMA) decreased with increasing the percentage of grafting.
