Effect of Sample Nonlinearity on the Performance of Time-Domain Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy
The performance of the time domain method for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy is investigated with respect to amplitude overload of the perturbation signal used. Model calculations, based on the Butler-Volmer equation to simulate the nonlinearity of the electrochemical cell and experimental impedance spectra measurements are described. A comparison of the time domain and the frequency domain method for impedance spectrometry is presented and discussed.
