Study of a Heteropolyanion-Doped Poly(5-Amino-1-Naphthol) Film Electrode and Its Catalytic Activity
A phosphomolybdic anion-doped poly(5-amino-1-naphthol) [poly(5-NH2-1-NAP)/PMo12] has been prepared by electrochemical polymerization of 5-amino-1-naphthol in aqueous 0.5 M H2SO4 containing PMo12O403- anions. The doped films were characterized by in situ FTIR spectroscopy and XPS analysis. The film-coated electrode was very stable upon potential cycling in acid; its catalytic effect on the reduction of chlorate anions was studied.
