Empirical-Model of General Application to Fit (K,C,T) Experimental-Data from Concentrated Aqueous-Electrolyte Solutions
An empirical model of the type kappa = f(c, T) (kappa : electrolytic conductivity; c : concentration; T : temperature) is proposed to fit (kappa, c, T) data from aqueous electrolyte solutions. The model is an extension of the Casteel-Amis equation to include in it the effect of the temperature upon the conductivity of the solution. The quality of the model has been tested by fitting (kappa, c, T) data from 20 different aqueous electrolytic systems. Possible applications include interpolation and extrapolation of conductivity to different work-conditions or automatic estimation of concentrations by continuous measurement of the conductivity and the temperature, in such fields as development of high energy and low temperature batteries or industrial process control.
