Influence of the Chain-Length on the Adsorption Parameters of Fatty Alcohols Estimated on the Basis of Differential Capacity Data
Two analytical models of differential capacity and nonlinear regression analysis have been applied for the precise estimation of the parameters of adsorption of fatty alcohols in the order from butanol to hexanol on mercury electrode. One of the models was based on the adsorption isotherm for a two-component system, and the other used Frumkin isotherm with a linear dependence of the interaction parameter on electrode potential. The ability of both models to adequately predict investigated experimental results is discussed. The obtained precise estimates of the adsorption parameters of fatty alcohols have been compared and discussed as well.
