Electrocatalytic oxidation of oxalic acid on palladium-based modified glassy carbon electrode in acidic medium
The electrocatalytic oxidation of oxalic acid in 0.1 M HClO4 solutions at a palladium-based chemically modified glassy carbon electrode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry. The effects of applied potential, scan rate, pH, palladium loading, Pd(II) bulk concentration, rotation speed of the electrode on the electrooxidation process of oxalic acid have been evaluated. Two independent electrooxidation processes, which involves different palladium species and intermediates of reaction are taken into account to explain the electrochemical behavior of the palladium-based glassy carbon modified electrode towards the oxidation of oxalic acid in acidic medium.
