Potential for reduction of alcohol production costs in Brazil
The alcohol barrel-equivalent price to gasoline in Brazil ranges from US$36.00 to 54.00. Without large subsidies, alcohol is ton costly as an alternative to gasoline. In this paper, we demonstrate that significant cost reductions can be achieved through technological improvements, increased efficiency and the use of alcohol by-products.
