The electric double layer capacitance due to the modified Poisson-Boltzmann theory is evaluated for point ions at low temperatures. An anomalous capacitance behaviour is found for 1: 1 and 2:2 electrolytes for no imaging and for an insulating wall. No anomalous behaviour was found for 1:2 electrolytes. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V.
