Direct reductive amination of aldehydes and selective reduction of alpha,beta-unsaturated carbonyl compounds by NaBH4 in the presence of guanidine hydrochloride in water
A selective and direct access to secondary amines and a regioselective procedure for 1,2-reduction of ut, alpha,beta-unsaturated aldehydes and ketones with sodium borohydride activated by guanidine hydrochloride (5 mol%) in water is described. (C) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
