Testing of live and stock tank oil (STO) single-phase waxy crude oils solids deposition using a Taylor-Couette flow (TCF) device was performed. A comparison between TCF and pipe flow is presented to provide insight into the scalability process from one flow system to the other. Conversely, the deposition investigation included wax deposition as function of time (kinetics), shear (dynamics), and temperature (heat transfer). The results showed a reasonable deposition trend as a function of selected variables with clear effects of the depletion event.
