Propionic-Acid Production in a Membrane Bioreactor
Fermentation of glycerol by propionic acid bacteria led only to propionic acid with no acetic acid. Continuous fermentation with a membrane bioreactor allows the production of high-quality propionic acid with a volumetric productivity of 1 gl(-1) h(-1).
