Hybridization of DNA Oligononucleotides at Surfaces
Solid-phase hybridization underpins the modern microarray and biosensor biotechnologies now widely used for biological detection. Solid-phase hybridization is subject to thermodynamic and kinetic constraints. Thermodynamics define limits on discrimination of different target detection of low copy targets. Kinetic determine how quick equilibrium is approached. Here we present a mathematical method for estimating nonspecific hybridization which relies on the kinetics of oligo binding.
