미생물 연료전지를 이용한 폐수처리 및 전기생산 특성
Characteristics of Electricity Generation and Wastewater Treatment Using Microbial Fuel Cell
Microbial Fuel cell (MFC) can be used to generate electricity from various from of organic matter. The power produced depends largely on the system architecture and internal resistance, bacteria on the anode, type of organic matter, chemical characteristics of medium (solution conductivity, pH and chemical concentration). Performance of MFC was evaluated to treat synthetic wastewater and actual sewage. The MFC gave COD and BOD removal efficiencies of 88.2% and 87%, respectively, and TKN removal efficiεncy was around 75~80%. Biomass granulation was observed in the anode compartment of MFC. When acetate was used as a carbon source, the maximum power density was 613.0 mW/m² (external res istance 100Ω).
