Effects of gamma ray dose and material mix rate on aerobic composting
Livestock manure may contain pathogenic organisms which pose a risk to the health of animals or humans. Organic composting is a useful fertilizer for organic farming. In this study, the radiaton treatment was performed to investigate the effects of material mix rate of organic compost and gamma radiation on aerobic composting. All composts reactors were irradiated at a dose of I, 5, 10 and 20kGy. MateriaIs(pig manure and sawdust) irradiated at a dose of 20kGy and non irradiated materials were mixed to the ratio of 0:100, 25:75, 50:50, 75:25 and 100:0%.
