Properties of a Kaolin-Flocculating Polymer Elaborated by Byssochlamys Nivea
Paper fibers, a constituent of whitewater effluent from paper manufacturing were flocculated by an extracellular glycoprotein elaborated by the fungus Byssochlamys nivea. The principal cross-linking moiety is a polysaccharide that binds to kaolin filler in the paper.
