A kinetic study of the reaction of atomic hydrogen with iodobenzene
The rate constant for the reaction of H atoms with phenyl iodide has been measured using the laser flash-photolysis technique with detection of H by resonance fluorescence. The data over 295-907 K are summarized by the expression k = 1.45 x 10(-18) T(2.50)exp(74/T) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1) with a 95% confidence limit for k of +/-8%. Ab initio analysis suggests the dominant products are phenyl and hydrogen iodide. (C) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
