In this review, we describe the structure, physical properties, and electronic structure of halogen-bridged one-dimensional (ID) Ni-III compound [Ni(chxn)(2)Br]Br-2, which is one of the mostly studied 1D strongly correlated electron compounds. We also introduce recent progress of our study of Ni-III compounds.
