Phase-Behavior of the Binary Refrigerant Mixtures Hcfc22-Cfc12 and Hcfc22-Hcfc123
We measured vapor-liquid equilibria (VLE) for the systems of chlorodifluoromethane (HCFC22)-dichlorodifluoromethane(CFC12) over the temperature range 348.811; to 374.14K and HCFC22-dichlorotrifluoroethane (HCFC123) from 313.48K to 414.57K, and vapor pressures and the critical properties of their components. Binary interaction parameters of an extended BWR equation of state for the systems composed of fluorocarbons including the above mentioned systems were correlated as quadratic equations of temperature. Using the parameters obtained from the VLE measurements, estimation of coefficients of performance (COP) for these binary refrigerant mixtures revealed that about 17% energy will be saved for the system HCFC22-HCFC123 as a mixture-refrigerant in comparison with HCFC22.
