Diffusion coefficients for the solute phenol blue in several binary liquid solvent mixtures were measured at 298 K. The solvents were binary mixtures of cyclohexane + acetone, cyclohexane + benzophenone, and cyclohexane + toluene. Certain experiments were compromised because phenol blue strongly adsorbed on stainless steel when the solvent was cyclohexane-rich. In contrast, high local compositions of acetone, benzophenone, or toluene around the solute prevented solute adsorption during the experiment.
