Experimental Investigation of the Multiphase High-Pressure Equilibria of Carbon-Dioxide Water (1-Propanol)
Data on fluid three- and four-phase equilibria and critical points in the ternary system carbon dioxide-water-(1-propanol) were determined using an apparatus with a view cell. At 303, 313 and 333 K, the entire pressure range over which three-phase equilibria exist was covered (pressures between 5.5 and 16.1 MPa). Four-phase equilibria were measured at temperatures from 288 K up to the critical endpoint of the four-phase line (about 313 K). The new data extend the range in which reliable information on the phase behavior of the carbon dioxide-water-(1-propanol) system is available. Furthermore, the temperature and pressure at one (of two) tricritical points for this system are determined.
