On volume translations in equations of state
Translations are often applied on equations of state with the aim of improving the description of molar volumes. In the present note an alternative presentation of the ideas developed in the pioneering work of Peneloux and Rauzy [Peneloux, A., E. Rauzy, A consistent correction for Redlich-Kwong-Soave volumes. Fluid Phase Equilib., 8 (1982) 7-23.] is provided and some issues are discussed in a deeper level of detail.
