Platinum-Germanium Compounds from the Reactions of (COD)PtMe2 (COD=1,5-cyclooctadiene) with HGePh3
Pt(COD)Me-2 reacts with HGePh3 to yield two new compounds Pt(COD)(Me)(GePh3), 1 and Pt(COD)(GePh3)(2), 2 by replacement of the methyl groups by GePha(3) ligands. When performed under CO, two other compounds trans-Pt(CO)(2)(GePh3)(2), 3, and Pt-2(CO)(2)(GePh3)(2)(mu-GePh2)(2), 4, were obtained. Compound 2 was obtained from 1 by reaction with HGePh3, and 3 was obtained from 2 by treatment with CO.
