Titania nanotubes supported platinum catalyst in CO oxidation process
Catalytic activity of TiO2 nanotubes and titania-supported platinum catalysts was examined for carbon monoxide oxidation process. It is shown that titania nanotubes modified with 1.5 wt.% of 1-5 nm platinum clusters reveal notable catalytic activity already at room temperature contrary to titania or platinum itself. The catalyst behavior was analyzed using TEM, XRD and XPS techniques to find out if structural peculiarities of titania nanotubes may contribute to the catalysis at low temperatures.
