Adsorption of Formic Acid and its Decomposed Intermediates on (100) Surfaces of Pt and Pd: A Density Functional Study
In this work we have systemically characterized the adsorption of formic acid, its decomposed intermediates and products on the (100) surfaces of Pt and Pd. We observed that adsorbates binding through the C atoms to the surface bind stronger to the Pt surface compared to the Pd surface, while adsorbates binding to the surface via O atoms favor the Pd surface over the Pt surface.
