Optimization of Synthesis Gas Formation in Methane Reforming with Carbon Dioxide
The carbon dioxide reforming of methane over Ni/SiO2, Ni-Co/SiO2 and commercial nickel catalyst was investigated. The best methane conversion (57%) and H-2 (53%) yield were achieved over Ni industrial catalyst. This catalyst, however, undergoes deactivation as a result of carbon formation. The advantage of the bimetallic catalysts is high resistance to metal reduction and coking.
