Aromatization of butane over gallosilicates
Gallosilicates of various Si/Ga ratios were synthesized, characterized and were found to be MFI-type zeolites. A catalytic study of n-butane over gallosilicate showed that gallium concentration has a pronounced effect on conversion and aromatics selectivity. Butene selectivity at very low conversion showed that dehydrogenation and cracking are the primary activation reactions of butane. Direct dehydrogenation reaction, which does not involve protonic sites, was proposed to occur in the transformation of n-butane over gallosilicate.
