New precise measurement of the Cotton-Mouton effect in helium
We report a new precise measurement of the Cotton-Mouton effect in helium at T similar or equal to 290 K for the two wavelengths lambda = 532 nm and lambda = 1064 nm. The hypermagnetizability anisotropy Delta eta for helium is 0.92 +/- 0.07 au at the wavelength of 532 nm and 0.98 +/- 0.07 au at the wavelength of 1064 nm: these values agree well with the theoretical calculations.
