Using thermal-cracking residue for adsorbent production
Sulfur containing furanoformolites can be utilized for production of new carbon adsorbents with narrow pore distribution and well-developed volume of the primary micropore structure. The sorption capacity of the carbons for xenon is 1.2-1.5 higher than that of the industrial sulfur-potassium activation adsorbent SKT. A mathematical dependence of the sorption capacity as a function of structural characteristics and surface polarity is derived, and its constants calculated.
