Lamellar mesostructured aluminum organophosphonate (AOP-1) with unique inorganic-organic hybrid framework can be prepared from the reactions of aluminium triisopropoxide with methylene diphosphonic acid in the presence of alkyltri-methylammonium surfactants, which is the first example of the preparation of layered aluminum organophosphonate with pure hybrid framework mainly composed of Al, P, and organic group.
