Asymptotic expansion of the washout function for stirred tanks-in-series
This paper demonstrates that the washout function for a flow system involving a number of stirred tanks-in-series can be approximated through asymptotic expansion. The resultant infinite series is in descending order of the number of stirred tanks, m; it is useful for estimating the washout function when m is large. In fact, when m approaches infinity, the series approaches the step function.
