Studies of the effect of strongly basic anion exchanger Wofatit SBW cross-linking on the effectiveness of Y(III)-Nd(III) separation in the system C2H5OH-HNO3
Possibilities of selective separation of neodymium(III) micro-quantities from yttrium(III) macro-quantities in the system of 90% v/v C2H5OH - 10% v/v 1-7 M HNO3 on the anion exchanger Wofatit SEW of the cross-linking 2-8% DVB by frontal analysis were examined. The weight and bed distribution coefficients for yttrium(III) and neodymium(III) were determined. The most effective ion-exchanger for separation of Y(III)-Nd(III) proved to be Wofatit SEW of the crosslinking 6% DVB. The content of neodymium(III) in yttrium(III) was reduced from 1% to below 10(-3)% in this process.
