Magnetic semifluidization of gas-fluidized ferromagnetic particles
The paper demonstrates the ability to create a novel semifluidized bed reactor for gas-fluidized ferromagnetic particles. The semifluidization has been achieved by means of a top restraining non-magnetic screen and a solenoid around it. The principal characteristics of the magnetic semifluidization are that the top restraining screen has an aperture greater than the size of the fluidized particles. An experimental study on the mechanics of the magnetic semifluidization has been carried out. Data correlations for the minimum and maximum semifluidization velocities and the pressure drop have been developed in terms of various system parameters.
