Synthesis of 2-(2,4-dinitrophenylsulphonyl) ethyloxycarbonyl chloride: A reagent for introducing a new base labile amino protecting group for peptide synthesis

Synthesis of a new labile protecting group, 2-(2,4-Dinitrophenylsulphonyl) Ethyloxycarbonyl Chloride was carried out. Protection of amino functionality of some amino acids such as Glycine, Alanine, Tryptophan, Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine were also carried out. Cleavage reaction of the group was monitored spectrophotometrically and racemization studies were also carried out.
