Uniformly Sized Molecularly Imprinted Polymers for on-line Concentration, Purification, and Measurement of Nimodipine in Plasma
Uniformly sized molecularly imprinted polymers (MTPs) for nimodipine have been prepared in an aqueous system by multi-step swelling and polymerization method, utilizing 4-vinylpyridine (4-VPY) or methacrylic acid (MAA) as a functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EDMA) as a cross-linking agent. Scanning electron microscopy was used to identify the structure features of the obtained polymers. Further, the influences of some chromatographic conditions were examined to explore the possible recognition mechanism. The results reveal that stable molecularly imprinted polymeric microspheres with good size monodispersity were obtained, and the polymer beads showed specific recognition for the template molecule and some other dihydropyridine calcium antagonists
