Diverging paths in FIFO fluid networks
The authors study the dynamics of fluid models of FIFO queueing networks, in which Bramson had found unexpected cases of transience. They introduce the notion of homogeneous layers to simplify the state description and show two results occurring in a range of parameters significantly larger than Bramson's transience cases. First, the authors identify unexpected stable fluid paths. Then, they make a description of linearly diverging fluid paths governed by attracting states.
