Four per cent V2O5/TiO2 (anatase) catalyst is highly active and selective for the vapour phase oxidation of 2-methylpyridine (I) to pyridine-2-aldehyde (II). In the present work, a 100 h test run has been carried out which provided a constant yield of pyridine-2-aldehyde (II).
