ELECTROCHEMICAL-BEHAVIOR OF ANODIC OXIDE FILM ON ANTIMONY IN ALCOHOLIC AQUEOUS-SOLUTIONS
Dissolution behaviour of the anodic oxide film on antimony in alcoholic aqueous solutions has been studied using impedance technique. The dissolution rate of the oxide film found to decrease with increase of alcohol concentration in the dissolution medium. Dissolution of the oxide film in some practically important redox systems has also been examined. It is found that the dissolution rate increases with increase in the redox potential of the redox system. The dissolution process of the duplex-nature antimony oxide follows a zero order mechanism in the test solutions.
