DIRECT KINETIC STUDY OF THE REACTION OF OH RADICALS WITH METHYL-ETHYL-KETONE
The low-pressure discharge flow technique with resonance fluorescence monitoring of OH has been applied to study the kinetics of the overall reaction: OH + CH3C(O)CH2CH3 -> products (1) The rate constant of k(1) = (1.09 +/- 0.09(1 sigma)) x 10 (12) cm(3) molecule (1) s (1) has been determined at T = 297 +/- 3 K. This value agrees well with the IUPAC recommendation which is based on photolysis kinetic studies.
