Cobalt Schiff base complexes with symmetric or asymmetric ligands: syntheses and application for the redox carbonylation of aniline to diphenyl urea
Two asymmetric salophen ligands (salophen(OH)(H) and salophen(NO2)(H)) were successfully synthesized via a step-wise approach. The catalytic results using redox carbonylation of aniline as model reaction showed that cobalt(II)-salophen(OH)(H) complexes is the most reactive catalyst.
