An Ethanol/O-2 Biofuel Cell Based on an Electropolymerized Bilirubin Oxidase/Pt Nanoparticle Bioelectrocatalytic O-2-Reduction Cathode
An effective O-2-reducing bioelectrocatalytic electrode is prepared by the electrochemical crosslinking of thioaniline-modified Pt nanoparticles (NPs) and thioaniline-functionalized bilirubin oxiclase (BOD). An O-2/ethanol biofuel cell element is constructed by integrating the Pt NP/BOD cathode and an electrically contacted alcohol clehydrogenase (AlcDH)-based anode.
